From Enemy to Friend
Wolves and dogs are closely related. Most scientists believe that dogs’ ancestors were wolves. Through time, wolves became tame enough to live with humans and help them. The change from wolf to dog was probably a result of careful breeding. Early humans allowed only the friendliest wolf pups to remain near them. This ensured that, over time, the wolves that stayed with groups of humans became tamer and tamer.
Wolves were influenced by their relationship with humans. So, they slowly became what we know today as dogs. They became adept at protecting and herding sheep and other animals whereas their ancestors would have made a meal of them. This ability made dogs very useful. However, although they are quite similar, wolves and dogs are also quite different.
Wolves are wild animals that live in packs, or groups, and eat only meat. They find their food by hunting. The most common noise they make is a howl. They may also bark, growl, yelp, and whine. All wolves look very much alike, although their colors vary slightly. They are large, slender, powerful animals with long legs and tails. Wolves are quite wary of people; they don’t trust them. They attack people only on rare occasions, usually when they are startled.
A small dog is looking up at a large wolf.
Dogs, on the other hand, are tame. They have been influenced by people for many, many years, which has made them quite different from wolves. For one thing, dogs eat vegetables and grains as well as meat products. They are much more likely to bark than to howl. Their sizes range from gigantic animals that are much larger than wolves to tiny animals that can sit comfortably in a cereal bowl. Large dogs are not only taller than wolves, but they are much heavier, and their appearances can vary as much as their sizes.
However, the main difference is found in dogs’ relationship with humans, whom they usually prefer to be near. The main effect of this is that most dogs are friendly to people. Some show hostility, but almost always only to strangers. Although most dogs are no smarter than wolves, they can certainly be trained more easily. They rarely hunt prey to eat and depend on their owners to supply them with food. This reliance on people just adds to the closeness of the relationship.
Wolves and dogs both pant to stay cool. They both can hear and smell very well, and they both can run silently. They even have the same number of teeth: 42. However, no matter how similar wolves and dogs may seem to be, wolves can never be made into a pet. They are also worthless as guard animals because they are shy. Domestic animals, such as cats and small dogs, are in more danger from wolves than humans are, but small children can also be in danger. The Big Bad Wolf may exist only in fairy tales, but real wolves can be as much of a threat, especially if they are not understood.

Systematically review the literature on corruption in international business. Justify why corruption is an important issue in international business.
Post a meaningful disscussion literature review discussing why corruption is an important issue in international business. Minimum 2 academic references (Preferably from the ABDC list of journals) are required.
Corruption is a critical issue in international business due to its far-reaching implications on economic, social, and political aspects. It undermines fair competition, distorts market dynamics, erodes public trust, and hinders sustainable development.
Here are some key points to consider:
Economic Impact: Corruption negatively affects economic growth, foreign direct investment, and overall business environment. It increases costs for businesses, creates barriers to entry, and reduces efficiency and productivity. Transparency International (TI) reports that corruption can add up to 10% to the cost of doing business globally.
Legal and Reputational Risks: Engaging in corrupt practices exposes businesses to legal consequences, including fines, penalties, and reputational damage. Companies found involved in corruption may face legal actions from anti-corruption authorities and tarnish their brand reputation, leading to loss of customers, partners, and stakeholders' trust.
Unfair Competition: Corruption distorts the level playing field for businesses. Bribery and favoritism undermine fair competition by giving undue advantages to certain firms, sidelining ethical companies that rely on merit and quality. This creates an environment where corrupt practices become the norm, stifling innovation and discouraging investment.
Compliance and Governance: Many countries have laws, regulations, and international agreements in place to combat corruption in international business. Non-compliance with anti-corruption laws, such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in the United States or the UK Bribery Act, can result in severe legal and financial consequences.
Sustainable Development: Corruption hampers sustainable development efforts by diverting resources meant for public goods and services, such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. It perpetuates inequality, undermines social progress, and exacerbates poverty in many countries.

why do the main characters begin to starve in chapter 41? who do you think is to blame for their condition? a thousand splendid suns
In chapter 41 of A Thousand Splendid Suns, the main characters begin to starve due to the prolonged war and ongoing conflict in Afghanistan.
The country's resources are scarce, and the government is unable to provide aid to its citizens. Additionally, the Taliban's strict control over food distribution exacerbates the situation, making it difficult for the characters to access basic necessities like bread and water. It is challenging to pinpoint a single entity to blame for the characters condition. The government's lack of support and the Taliban's harsh rule both contribute to the starvation and suffering of the people. However, it is essential to recognize the larger systemic issues at play, including the devastating effects of war and political instability. In essence, the characters' starvation is a result of a broader societal failure.
The severe shortage of food and resources, along with the harsh restrictions imposed by the Taliban, make it challenging for them to obtain necessary supplies. While it is difficult to place blame on a single individual or group, the overall situation can be attributed to the war and the oppressive regime of the Taliban. The combination of these factors has led to the dire circumstances faced by the characters.

Alice transmits a message to Bob using a stream cipher. During transmission, an error causes a single bit in the ciphertext to change. How does this affect the decrypted message? The entire message is unreadable after it is decrypted The decrypted message contains a 1-bit error in the same location The decryption process corrects the error. The message is readable up to the bit containing the error and scrambled after that point
Alice transmits a message to Bob using a stream cipher and during transmission, a single bit in the ciphertext changes due to an error, the decryption process may or may not correct the error depending on the specific cipher algorithm being used. If the cipher algorithm has error-correcting capabilities, then the decryption process will correct the error and the message will be readable. However, if the cipher algorithm does not have error-correcting capabilities, then the decrypted message may contain a 1-bit error in the same location as the error in the ciphertext, making that part of the message unreadable or incorrect. In either case, it is unlikely that the entire message would be unreadable after it is decrypted, as only a single bit was affected by the error. The message would still be readable up to the point where the error occurred and may be scrambled or unreadable after that point, depending on the error-correcting capabilities of the cipher algorithm.

It was February 26th the day we got locked in place. I didn’t know why or how it happened. I was 12 years old and at first, I thought it was just a joke. The next day I saw people trying to break the dome open, but nothing worked. Two more days go by, and people just stopped trying to escape. After five more day everybody just stopped thinking about and carried on with their lives. It felt like I was the only one the cared that we were still trapped. I asked my mom why people didn’t care about the dome. And she just ignored me like I wasn’t there. Later that day I went to the dome and inspected it. It looks like a dome, a dome that was trapping hundreds of people.
I had an idea; other people were trying to break the dome, but no one tried to tunnel under it. The next day I started digging with an old, rusted shovel. I got about a foot deep, and my shovel broke. I did not have any money so I could not buy another. I was looking in my garage and found a little spade shovel. Three days go by, and I was not making much progress. I was digging after school, and someone came behind my and asked me what I was doing. I told him a was digging, then he suddenly grabbed my arm and thew me in is van. He put a bag over my head, but I could see some light. When the truck stopped, I heard my kidnaper talking to someone, the. out of know where a loud mechanical sound. We continued driving for a little then we stopped again. He opened the back door to the van and pulled me out. We walked into a building, and he took the bag off my head. There I saw the people that were trying to escape out of the doom. The man thew her into her cell, I started looking at the other people in there. But this could not be possible because I just saw some of these people when I got taken. I asked them when they got here and the said nine days ago. I had to find a way out and I had to warn people about this.
After five days I started to get used to the routine. I tried to blend in with everybody and not be noticed. On the off chance that we get to stay out of our cells a little longer, I went to search for an escape path. Five months go by, and no one left, and no one came in. Another five days go by, and I finally found an escape plan. Though I had to watch and learn the routine of the guards. As I was watching the guard something changed. I didn’t know what, but I could feel something was off. Then as I turned around, I saw a shadow, a big dark mean looking shadow.
